Mi chiamo Marina e fin da piccola Salceta, quella casa antica e misteriosa dove andavamo a fare merenda graffiandoci le gambe fra i rovi, è stata sempre nel mio cuore. Era un podere dei miei nonni, rimasto abbandonato da molti anni, che poi col tempo e dopo un lungo restauro è diventata la casa di vacanza della mia famiglia e una piccola azienda agricola. Il lavoro di giornalista di cucina per molti anni mi ha tenuto impegnata a Roma fino al 2015 quando ho preso in mano l’azienda agricola, ma ho anche voluto accogliere viaggiatori alla scoperta della bella Toscana. Amo il vino rosso, sono sommelier AIS, i buoni film, mettere le mani nella terra, il canottaggio e stare con gli amici, vecchi e nuovi, che sono sempre una scoperta. Ed eccomi qui a darvi il benvenuto.

We were a group of 9 varying in age from 10 – 79 and we stayed at Salceta for a week. We were delighted by the villa. The furnishings and artwork and attention to detail are amazing and the home for us was definitely more beautiful than we imagined. Salceta is extremely well maintained, with a beautiful garden and a magnificent pool. We were very comfortable and were able to cook meals in a very well equipped kitchen and we enjoyed our meals outside under the wisteria on a beautiful patio overlooking the pool. Marina was a fantastic host, responding very quickly to any queries and also providing us with excellent suggestions as to what to do and where to eat in the area. We found the villa to be very well situated, we visited Florence, Greve, Siena, and San Gimignano from the house. We would love to return one day – as a family we can highly recommend this home as a perfect base for exploring Tuscany. – Lisa
As a group of ten, we spent an amazing week at Salceta, Marina’s beautiful Tuscan country house. It’s spacious, full of character, and with the shutters closed stays nice and cool through the day. It’s the perfect base to explore the area, whether walking in the hills or visiting Siena or Florence… To be honest though we spent most of our time in the garden, relaxing by the pool, playing table tennis and eating lots of delicious food. There’s a BBQ, a pizza oven and a well equipped kitchen. We bought local meat, freshly made pasta and some really nice wine and spent our evenings on the terrace. Marina was able to give us lots of tips on where we could buy all of the essentials, and recommended a superb restaurant a short drive away. We hope to be back soon! – Dave
Our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our two-week sojourn at Salceta. The lovely rural setting, tastefully restored villa and Marina’s hospitality contributed to a memorable experience. Nothing was overlooked to make our stay as comfortable and worry-free as possible. Although La Salceta is secluded and nestled among grapevines, cypresses,d lavender and rosemary, it is convenient to all the historic cities and charming hill towns. Moreover, the co-ops in Terranova-Braciolini and Montevarchi provide for excellent food shopping – as do the nearby groceries, butchers and bakeries. Marina also provided a list of recommended restaurants that lived up to her descriptions and our expectations. We were especially delighted when Marina offered to prepare a typical Tuscan dinner upon our arrival. We could not have asked for a more delightful introduction to this sublime region of Italy.
